Weekly Devotion

"Jesus answered them and said to them, "Take heed that no one deceive you. For many will come in My name saying; "I am the Christ, and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled, for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." (Mt 24:4-8)
 
Sounds like this mornings headlines. When you listen to the news keep the Lord's warnings in mind. People will make great claims and promises and will deceive many. But you have the Word of God to enlighten you. (Isa 8:20) You have the Holy Spirit to teach you. (Jn 16:13-14) Political and natural disturbances have always been a part of world history so don't let them discourage you. They are the beginning of sorrows. (v8) the world is in trouble but God is still on the throne!
